Telescopic boom and man basket
- Fully hydraulic operation without chain or cable extension mechanism eliminates the hazard of a worn chain or frayed cables.
- Optional Safety Interlock Control System (SICS) ensures/application/release of park brake, proper extension/retraction of stabilizers and stowing boom before moving machine.
- Hydraulic cylinders with built-in counter balance valves prevent uncontrolled descent of boom if loose rock falls onto the cylinder.
- Self-leveling and rotating man basket allows power crew to maximize coverage and limit reach outside of basket.
- Man basket is parked on the frame, protected from expensive damage and down time if machine is backed into obstructions.
- Engine start/stop/fire suppression in manbasket.
ANFO vessel and delivery system
- Choice of one or two ANFO vessels with durable, corrosion-resistant stainless steel construction for long service life. Available vessels from 454 kg (566 L) to 907 kg (1132 L). Certified to: CSA B51, AS 1210, ASME Code Section VIII Div 1 UW 12 Designed working pressure - 100 psi (6.9 bar).
- Full top cover keeps debris out of vessel to avoid plugging.
- Automatic top closure valve is air pressure operated for low maintenance.
- Wide fill funnel directs ANFO into the vessel, minimizing spillage and waste.
- Dual blowdown ports allow faster turnaround for refill and increased productivity.
- Bottom slip ring, discharge housing retainer allows easy repositioning of discharge, delivery valve for maintenance access.
- Quick removal discharge housing design easily removed by four stainless steel bolts to clear plugging of material in the lower cone.
- Pneumatic remote control delivery system is fully adjustable for flexible operation.
- Antistatic, semi-conductive hose is routed up boom for basket charging.
- System is suitable for all methods of charging.
Stick powder, cap/detonator storage
Boxes designed with approved laminated construction. Multiple layer boxes consist of steel, gypsum wallboard and plywood.
Engine/drivetrain
Deutz, Cummins or Detroit Diesel (Mercedes), ranging from 138 hp to 173 hp (120 kW to 129 kW). Matched engine, converter, transmission and axle components provide power to climb all inclines while keeping low diesel emissions. Equipped with full reversing power shift transmissions and planetary drive axles with in-board wet disc brakes.
Brakes
Fully hydraulic wet disc service brakes mounted at each axle. Equipped with secondary, spring-applied, hydraulic-released wet disc and park brake. Secondary brake automatically applies upon loss of brake accumulator psi, engine oil psi, transmission psi or electrical power for safe stopping in case of emergency.
Hydraulics
Hoses are routed through a covered trough on cold side of engine, away from heat sources to prevent fires and repairs to heat damaged hoses. Hydraulic diagnostic test ports provide easily accessible diagnostics. In-line check valve avoids unnecessary oil spills and forgotten "closed" ball valves.
Electrical system
NEMA enclosures mounted in engine area contain starter relay, alternator and instrument panel circuit breakers; enclosures mounted in frame are readily accessible from ground level for convenient diagnostic work and circuit breaker reset. LED circuit indicators on solenoid valves shortens system diagnostic time. Wiring in engine compartment is durable and resistant to moisture, heat/flame, abrasion and hydrocarbons. Components are easily replaced, minimizing downtime.
Tetra-amine Copper Nitrate (TACN)
All copper and brass is eliminated or sealed to avoid the formation of TACN, a potentially explosive compound.
