Engine/drivetrain

Deutz and Detroit Diesel (Mercedes) engine options range from 138 hp to 200 hp (103 kW to 149 kW). Fifth wheel models offer matched engine, converter, transmission and axle components that provide power to pull the largest loads while keeping diesel particulate emissions low. Capable, with 3% rolling resistance, to produce 21,600 lbs tractive effort; 20,500 lbs draw bar pull available. Enough power to pull 683,000 lbs rolling weight on level grade. At 7 mph, generates 7,000 lbs of tractive effort and 5,900 lbs of draw bar pull. Enough to pull 196,000 lbs on level grade. Feature full reversing power shift transmissions.

Exhaust treatment packages for heavy-duty applications meeting 2.5 gr/hr MSHA requirements are available to suit your individual needs with minimal cost per operating hour.

Brakes

Planetary drive axles with inboard, fully sealed wet disc brakes stand up to dirty environments. Properly balanced design with high-capacity axles and realized brake performance for the ability to safely stop. Split systems, front, rear, supplemental/parking. Chassis features integral counter weights to provide safe stopping of multiple trailers not equipped with brake packages. Enough traction to stop 70,000 lbs+ of loaded trailers without trailer brakes on level grade.

Electrical system

Fully sealed electrical circuits protected from dirt and corrosion. System maintains circuit continuity, minimizing downtime. Extended component life means fewer maintenance hassles down the road. Convenient circuit breaker reset. LED indicators are convenient for diagnostic work. NEMA enclosures mounted in engine area contain starter relay, alternator and instrument panel circuit breakers.

Articulation joint

Tapered bearings provide longer life with less maintenance attention. Oscillation feature reduces stress and loading on articulation pins and frame members.

Operator cockpit

Ergonomic control location and seat design in rubber isolated, sound suppressed cockpit for increased operator comfort and safety. Washer/wiper and heater provide protection from dust and reduce sound levels to below MSHA eight-hour limits.
